2022-2023 ASSP Chapter Officer Elections

The Heart of America Election Committee is pleased to announce that the two candidates, Mindy Prichard (Secretary) and Derek Farmer (Vice President/President Elect) have now been elected to these positions.

Mindy Prichard, ASP – Secretary

Mindy Prichard began her career in safety in elementary school when she served as Hall Monitor before and after school at Don Bonjour Elementary in Lenexa, KS. Her first professional safety position was working for the OSHA Consultation Program for the Kansas Department of Human Resources, now the Kansas Department of Labor. Mindy has been providing free onsite, OSHA consultation services to small employers in the northeastern part of Kansas for almost 8 years. Prior to coming back to the OSHA Consultation Program in 2019, she successfully led safety operations for the City of Overland Park, Hallmark Cards, Inc., Harley-Davidson Assembly Plant in KC, and Russell Stover Chocolates. 2022 marks Mindy’s 30th anniversary working as a safety professional.

Mindy has her Bachelor of Science in Safety Management from Central Missouri State University (’92) and was the ASSE Student Treasurer for 2 years. She is an Associate Safety Professional and currently working toward her CSP certification. She has been a member of the ASSP HOA Chapter on and off over the last 30 years and has been volunteering since June 2019 on the Executive Committee. She has overseen the Professional Development Workshops, which includes obtaining CEU’s for attendees. She recently organized an ASP/CSP Study Group and has been serving as Acting Secretary since June 2021. Mindy has been a member of the Pittsburg State University Environmental and Safety Management Leadership Council since 2021 and she attends the Construction Safety Group meetings in Kansas City.

Her involvement with ASSP HOA over the last 2-1/2 years has allowed her to learn more about the local chapter and how she can better serve our members. She accepted the appointment as Secretary mid-term due to a vacancy, and would be honored if you would consider electing her to continue to serve as your Chapter Secretary.
