Harvesters needs our help! Last year, Harvesters helped distribute 61.3 million meals to families in need. As we approach the holidays, they rely even more heavily on volunteers to accomplish their mission of distributing food and household products to emergency food pantries, community kitchens, homeless shelters, and children’s homes.
Heart of America has signed up to help sort and repack products, but space is limited to 25 people. Please register below.
- All volunteers must be free of any contagious illness (runny nose, colds, the flu, strep throat, etc.)
- Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
- Close toed shoes and long pants (no shorts, skirts or dresses) are required. Dressing in layers and bringing a jacket is recommended, even during the summer.
- Please leave all valuable jewelry at home. This includes rings which may come off in the packing process.

Directions & Parking
From I-70 – Take Van Brunt Blvd. south (Van Brunt becomes Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd.), turn east (left) on Leeds Trafficway, turn right on Topping.
Heading south on I-435 – Take I-70 West to Van Brunt Blvd. Take Van Brunt south (Van Brunt becomes Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd.), turn east (left) on Leeds Trafficway, turn right on Topping.
Heading north on I-435 – Take Stadium Drive west, turn left on Leeds Trafficway, turn left on Topping.
From 71 Highway – Take Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. east, turn right on Leeds Trafficway, turn right on Topping.
Hiland Dairy (formerly Roberts Dairy) is located at the intersection of Emanuel Cleaver II and Leeds Trafficway. Harvesters is east of Roberts Dairy.
Parking is limited so please carpool. Visitor parking is available in front of the building and in an overflow lot across the street. Please do not block in Harvesters’ trailers. If spots fill, please limit street parking to the east side so semi-trucks can safely access our facility.
Guest should enter through the Volunteer Entrance (under the red awning) located on the east side of the main entrance.
