About Staco Electric

Staco Electric is a growing, mid-sized electrical contractor specializing in commercial and industrial projects. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality work while maintaining strong relationships with our union workforce. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Safety Specialist to strengthen our field safety presence and support our safety program

Position Summary

The Safety Specialist is a key leader within Staco Electric’s Safety Department, responsible for the day-to-day execution of the company’s safety program across all construction projects. Working directly under the Safety Director, this position drives hazard recognition, regulatory compliance, training, and incident prevention in the field, and serves as a hands-on resource and coach for project managers, foremen, and electricians.

As Staco continues to grow, this role will play a central part in strengthening the company’s safety culture and expanding its safety program. The Safety Specialist will act on behalf of the Safety Director when needed and is expected to take ownership of major program elements, not simply support them.

Key Responsibilities

Field Safety Leadership

  • Conduct regular, independent jobsite safety inspections and audits; document findings, assign corrective actions, and verify closure.
  • Coach foremen and crews on hazard recognition, safe work practices, and stop-work authority; build strong working relationships with field leadership.
  • Oversee electrical safety practices on site, including NFPA 70E compliance,
lockout/tagout, energized work permits, and arc flash/shock protection.

    representatives on assigned projects.

    corrective action plans, and follow-up.
  • Coordinate injury case management with the Safety Director, insurance carrier, and
medical providers, including return-to-work and modified-duty efforts.
  • Maintain OSHA 300/300A/301 recordkeeping and support annual electronic injury
    reporting.
  • Represent the company during OSHA or client inspections and safety meetings in
    the Safety Director’s absence.

Training & Safety Culture

  • Conduct in-house safety training, including new-hire safety orientation, First
Aid/CPR/AED, OSHA 10, fall protection, NFPA 70E awareness, and other required
    topics.
  • Coordinate third-party training resources, including scheduling outside trainers,
vendors, insurance carrier/broker programs, and online training platforms for
courses such as OSHA 30, aerial lift/forklift operator, and NFPA 70E qualifiedperson
    training.
  • Maintain training schedules, sign-in sheets, and completion records for both inhouse
    and third-party training.
  • Prepare and lead weekly toolbox talks and safety meetings; track attendance and
    participation.
  • Maintain the company safety training matrix and certification records, and identify
    training gaps.
  • Plan and lead safety campaigns and recognition programs (e.g., Safety Week,
    seasonal training campaigns, incentive programs).

Program Support & Compliance

  • Assist the Safety Director in maintaining and updating the EHS Safety Manual,
    written programs, and procedures.
  • Assist with client prequalification and contractor compliance platforms (e.g.,
ISNetworld), including gathering and submitting jobsite and training
    documentation.
  • Help track safety performance data (inspection findings, incidents, leading
indicators) and provide field input to support the Safety Director’s reporting.
  • Assist with PPE and safety equipment programs, including field inspections and
    inventory.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field leadership on project safety planning,
new-hire onboarding, and pre-employment and post-incident drug screening.
  • Support environmental and health compliance, including hazard
communication/SDS management and silica and noise exposure controls.
  • Stay current on OSHA, NFPA, and industry regulations and communicate changes
    to field and office personnel.
  • Perform other safety-related duties as assigned by the Safety Director.

of time spent on active jobsites throughout the company’s working area. The Safety
Specialist must follow and model all company safety policies and procedures at all times.

You’ll Enjoy This Role If You…

  • Like variety, where no two days are the same
